Marine Scout Bombing Squadron (VMSB) 224 "Bombing Banshees," Mindanao, 2 June, 1945
The Bombing Banshees were the first Marine unit to fly Helldivers in combat. On June 2, 1945 the squadron attacked Cabaguio, Mindinao during the campaign to retake the Philippines.
This USMC photo shows this aircraft, 702, 10 days after the raid on Cabaguio.
